Live at Montreux 1997 (DVD)
Beskrivning: Releasedate: 2004-11-29
Earth, Wind & Fire were formed at the end of the sixties but really hit their stride in the mid-seventies when founder Maurice White was joined by his brother Verdine on bass and lead vocalist Philip Bailey. The new line up went on to score a string of hit singles and albums in the US, the UK and many other countries around the world over the next decade and to pick up six Grammy Awards in the process. After a break of a few years the band reformed in the early nineties with Maurice White working in the studio but not touring.
In 1997 they released the album In The Name Of Love on Pyramid Records in the US and the newly formed Eagle Records in Europe (EAGCD002). As part of the European tour to support the release the band played at the Montreux Jazz Festival and went down so well they were immediately booked to return the following year.
This DVD features the whole of the July 1997 concert, which features a couple of tracks from the In The Name Of Love album surrounded by classic hits such as: Saturday Nite, September, Let's Groove, Fantasy, Devotion, After The Love Is Gone, Shining Star, Can't Hide Love, That's The Way Of The World and Boogie Wonderland.
As a bonus feature seven additional songs from the 1998 concert have been added, including the hits Mighty Mighty, In The Stone and Getaway.
